We forcefully moved to the new server and upgraded to Dragonfly CMS v10.
Please keep in mind we are working hard to get everything up and running, so please be patient.

Since updating to 9.1.1 my site has started getting bots posting.

I had been running 9.0.6.1 for 18 months with 0 posts, by using a bot trap that used to be in the wiki.

Since updating to 9.1.1 I have had bots running arround and spamming the public forums.

Can anybody explain why this might be happening since the upgrade?

Thanks.

The only bot trap I remember was for banning bots that don't follow robots.txt. Nothing to do with automated posting scripts.

You're allowing guest posts so anyone can automate a post.

did you accidentally overwrite your robots.txt and .htaccess without adding the bottrap changes?

I place the bot-trap directory in the robots .txt, but no changes to .htaccess. As the bot-trap instructions have been removed frm the wiki, i don't know what, if any changes need to be made.
