A powerful, fully configurable module capable of displaying News, Articles, Photo Albums and much more. Flexible and powerful, it can be used for news, articles, or to construct an entire website.

9.2.1 compliant, but also runs on 9.1.x and 9.0.6.1

!!! NOTE: There is a nasty bug in earlier versions of 3.2 and 3.1! If you edit an article which already has forum-based comments attached to it, that link is broken. No data is lost, but the link from Article to Forum Thread is dropped. (Link from Forum thread to article is OK.) PLEASE UPGRADE !!!

Supports multiple Sections plus Categories within Sections, image upload, and different Group access for both viewing and administration, by both users and staff, for each Section.

Pro_News is a fully templated, article-based module with direct links to the Dragonfly Forum or ForumsPro, for article comments and discussion. And to Coppermine Photo Gallery for displaying albums photos as part of an Article.

In addition Pro News directly supports the upload of 1 or 2images as part of the article, including the automatic creation of a thumbnail, and display of both the thumb and the original. It also introduces the structure of Sections as well as Categories (Sections hold Categories which hold Articles), with options for viewing and administrating individual Sections selectable at the Group level. Each Section can be completely separate, with its own templates and presentation. A 'Headlines' view option is also provided when Pro_News is used on the Home page, to make best use of the available space. Most routine editing can be done directly from the display page, with complete and accurate previews always available, even in Edit mode.

Pro_News can display a Coppermine Photo Album in its entirety, along with explanatory text, intro picture and/or photographer's image, in an up-to-date style with up to 32 bordered and drop-shadowed images per page.

Extensive use of the DF template system, allow full control over the article's appearance, plus the ability to drop unwanted display fields, and input fields, by simple removal from the templates. Various base templates are provided for you to use, extend and modify. Additional advanced templates are available at my store.

Fully compatible with the new Dragonfly 9.2.1, but can be installed under 9.1.x or 9.0.6.1 with special handling (instructions included).

Released under GNU GPL version 2 or later.

PLEASE NOTE THAT Pro_News REQUIRES at a minimum MySQL Version 4.4.
