|
OK i have the newest version installed of DF. The problem that I'm experiencing is that i can't see my blocks on the right site. I want to put for example my CPGCalendar with small month view on the top right hand side of the main site page. And keep it there. I have the block assigned to the right side. I have read all the posts about setting admin, modules, blocks to both sides. Problem is that when i go to admin/modules i don't see a selection for blocks. I see the menu list that says blocks and some are left, some are both and some are right. For example, i have NuCalendar, all visitors, block assignment set to Right and when you go to the index.php it doesn't show on the right. Matter of fact, it doesn't even show up.
Am i missing something? I'm very new to this stuff and i dont know anything about php coding. I basically know how to install the this and use the menu's that are in the system. Anyone now what i can do to fix the problem? I am including a Snapshot of the explanation above to help. Here is what i see.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

3 step process:
On right side of Admin > Blocks set the required values for each block.
On left side of Admin > Blocks edit each module to position the blocks on the correct side. Remember to click the Update button to make it stick (get it written to the db).
In Admin > Modules set the required side(s) for each module.
Can be done in any order. Note that for a NEWLY created block this should all get done for you as part of the block creation process - but after that it's grind, grind, grind.

Is this problem theme related or just the DF related? Cause this has the same effect on any theme i install and on any site i install.

To test/eliminate the theme try with dragonfly or default theme which came with 9.2.1. These both support right blocks and are known 9.2.1 compliant. The block process did change with 9.2.1 so if your theme is not 9.2.1 compliant you will have problems - see here for details.

OK just changed the theme, and it's not showing with the default theme either. Any other suggestions?
Should i downgrade the site to an older version of DF?

No don't do that - it's highly unlikely that it's that serious a problem. Just to double check, if you go back into Admin > Blocks left side panel for the modules in question the settings are still correct? I.e you changes did take?
Also have you tested the block in question? Does it show when on the left? Does it show if you click on it in Admin > Blocks on the right side panel?
What block is it? And which module is it? Note blocks for My Account and Coppermine will NOT move to the right side unless you change the core code.
You could also try posting on your theme developers' site - or wait until they find your post here.

Yea it's all correct. Did exactly what you said. I can see the block on the left. But no matter what i do, i can't move it to the right side.

I still don't understand which block you are having trouble with...
If I display CPGNuCalendar on your site all the blocks are on the right... Same with Photo Gallery.
But as I said, the Coppermine block will not move to the right side unless you edit the code - see this post (of mine).

Go to Admin > Modules and edit the module you have set as home and chose Blocks and set that to both. That should fix you up.
