DF CMS Demo

Just thought of finding a DF CMS demo. My search led me to Opensourcecms.com. The only problem is that there seems to be no mention of a demo on the DF site. I have noticed that all CMS have a demo feature. So I would suggest to link a demo or setup an entire demo site here on DF(If there are no issues).

thats not hard to do edit the /includes/config.php
change define('CPGN_DEMO', false); to true after you ahve everything setup of course.

Might be a nice seller to have like demo.dragonflycms.com Try before you buy! oh wait a minute its free lol

Yeah that is exactly what I feel too. Let's wait for DF developers to respond on this.

I don't get what we're talking about here. There IS a demo of Dragonfly on OpensourceCMS - it's actually the reason I switch to DF - I tried the demo there and liked it. And it's actually up to date!
CMS Version 9.2.0.RC2

I think maybe CatchImran is saying that we need to promote that demo here - maybe put something on the homepage that says "try the demo at OpenSourceCMS"

You got it right rlgura. Just wanted to add on that you could also add an alternate demo here as well to make it easy for people coming directly to demo the CMS. Not that much of a benefit though maybe. But the link would definitely be a real help for not so sure users! The OpensourceCMS installation however is very important indeed and seems to enjoy a pretty good rating as well. Cheers!

I don't know thou if the DF Team is willing to put up another demo site, since there is one @ opensourcecms.

I had one up long time ago but no one ever used it so I took it back down

That is the point! Why have more than one demo location (especially here). DF Team will have to maintain 2 databases (production and demo) and demo site is not easily maintain. Especially when you have hundreds of users trying to use it (may be at one time) demo will need to be reset constantly (just like at opensourcecms) so it will show everyone how it's supposed to work.

demo mode does not allow any action that will make a change in the database. basically just shows them everything in admin view.

even if it was setup so user could make changes and such just setup a cron job to import a default backup sql file to the db every 2 hours or something. I dont think it would be hard but I agree on there no sense in having 2 just link to that one.

What about a demo for addon modules...anyone know of a quick simple way to do it, as the cron job every two hours or less, sounds great and thinking disable certain functions, like mailers scripts via the code, if needed and would be able to let everyone demo all the admin panel options for each module and play around with it and try it out and see if it was they are looking for!

Will post back on any progress and please offer any suggestions, etc.,

np, I looked for example scripts that have the crontab commands, to rollback or revert like every hour and did not find what I was looking for...

would it be possible to set up a demo the same way dragonflycms and/or do you or anyone think they could write a quick example crontab script that would do the following>

Rollback or revert back server, as scheduled to default backup desired.
