Still problems of characters and within e-mails too! :: Archived

On our web site, despite all done already, I have many characters not showing properly, including within the Admin block!

Also, when I get the e-mails from feed-back module, I can't read them if they are for example in French or Slovene, because many characters are unreadable (I'm using The_Bat, and it doesn't seems to understand UTF-8!).

try notepad2 to read the text.

If I copy the text and paste it in Notepad2; it's the same. If then I choose "encoding > utf-8" (still in NotePad2), then it appears correctly.
Does it means that The_Bat doesn't deal with utf-8 encoding??

check that your emails have Content-Type: text/plain; charset = "UTF-8" in the header and if so, then no it does not

You are using the phpnuke feedback module not our Contact module Sad

Yes, because your "contact" is too complicated! ie. we want a simple feedback, without font changes, colour, etc...

Our module can be modified, but you will continue to have utf-8 problems if you don't use it!!
If you do want to allow bbcode in news submission but not in Contact:
on line 50 modules/Contact/index.php

PHP:

}

with

PHP:

    $bb = '';

Otherwise just turn off allow html email in admin>settings
