#1: 9.2.1 Released Author: NanoCaiordo, Location: Melbourne, AUPosted: Wed Feb 06, 2008 12:29 pm ---- Hello everyone,
We announced a while ago that on the 5th of February we were going to drop PHP4 support in favor of PHP 5.2 (read our news for more details), so after this release we have.
Our latest version contains quite a few interesting new features, bug fixes, speed improvements and code optimization plus the code has been drastically trimmed in a few areas thanks to a little new option in our template engine.
From now on, cvs HEAD, and every new version, will be PHP5 only - if you are using cvs snapshots or cvs websites, make sure that your server meets the new requirements. If it doesn't, don't forget to ask your server administrator.
Changes are "stickied" in our CVS Forums and/or announced within these Forums. If you write code or themes for DragonflyCMS please make sure to read them. If you are a site owner, please, consult your theme designer or module developer for any questions about compatibility.

#6: Re: 9.2.1 Released Author: rlgura, Location: Cleveland, OH USAPosted: Wed Feb 06, 2008 5:42 pm ---- OK, sorry, but this is not so clear - is this correct:
DragonFlyCMS 9.2.1 is NOT PHP5 dependent, but all future versions will be?
This really should have been split into different announcements - 1 for DF9.2.1 official release and 1 for PHP5 requirement for CVS and all future versions.
#7: Re: 9.2.1 Released Author: rosbif, Location: Paris, FrancePosted: Wed Feb 06, 2008 6:09 pm ---- I take it if I follow the advice on my admin page (the big red 'x') that says I should upgrade, most of my old modules and themes will no longer work?
#8: Re: 9.2.1 Released Author: rlgura, Location: Cleveland, OH USAPosted: Wed Feb 06, 2008 6:29 pm ---- MOST modules will be fine. ALL themes need to be updated.

#11: Re: 9.2.1 Released (caution for MySQL4 users) Author: LankaBoard, Posted: Fri Feb 08, 2008 5:31 am ---- Hi, why the new release has been withdrawn? I installed it and works properly. any security issue? do i need to back my site to 9.1?
#12: Re: 9.2.1 Released (caution for MySQL4 users) Author: NanoCaiordo, Location: Melbourne, AUPosted: Fri Feb 08, 2008 11:13 am ---- No security issues at all, and you don't need to go back.
Issue is for old versions only, like 8.x or 9.0.6.1 - any other version, doesn't matter if it was a fresh install or an upgrade, will be free of errors.
So enjoy your new version.

#14: Re: 9.2.1 Released Author: tkog2004, Posted: Fri Feb 08, 2008 8:10 pm ---- just saw the withdrawn notice on the front page and started to panic after upgrading 6 sites over the last few days, pleased to hear its nothing to worry about, and very pleased with the new version, doesnt seem to feel as 'bloated' and page loadtimes seem sharper too...
Regards
Tom
