I don't know how to disallow visitors from copy the news and getting it by looking source code. I just don't want them to copy my news easily and paste on their website. Thanx for any help.

The only solution is: don't publish it

You can't stop people from copying/printing your news.
You could however copyright your news and check the international laws regarding publishing.

You may find this site useful,
creativecommons.org/

I believe there is also a Firefox/Mozilla plug-in for Creative Commons.

It would fool dumb people, but let's face it, if you're running a site and stealing content your not the typical home user and can easily get around things like that.

Is some site in particular stealing your content, or is this just a paranoia precaution? Smile

Ok I see. I found this and put it in the body tag of theme:

oncontextmenu=\"return false\"
ondragstart=\"return false\"
onselectstart=\"return false\"

Yea, only works with ie....

So my conclusion is let they copy my news... Big grin

i can go View Source then Find text that in your news then copy. You can't prevent from that happen.

those JavaScripr function like oncontextmenu doesn't work since Firefox can bypass it or disable Javascript

Hmm, it's a bit crazy but may help - try to convert the whole news' text to an image (e.g. transparent gif), and with a handwrite-alike font, even OCR can be avoided.
There are tons of tools like textogif (if you don't like imagemagik and co.) which can convert entire text into gifs.
Then you redirect your pics thru a php script (e.g. www.cpgnuke.com/gfx/id=117997.html will be acceptable by the browser), forbid referers and put a code in links or doublecheck with cookies in order to avoid outside linking/downloading.
Afterwards you put news' images in the module as a <td>, <table> or <div> background, so that right click won't help.
Unless users try searching thru browsers cache you may feel a bit secure Razz
Even that should be avoidable if you try playing with streams but I think it already became too difficult task for you Very Happy

Another way is to convert your news (manually) to an external format and/or process them with java, some 3d or kinda of flash so that users must use an additional plug-in to view them, but I don't think they will like the idea (first method is more transparent to them). There're also tools for that.

Aghhh, forgot - a snapshot may overcome all of this (unless you manage to refresh the image several times per sec)... Laughing

Sort of removes any search ability as well. By crippling the news in this manner you make things crippled for your normal users as well.
