Nice to see such fast responses to this codingproject!
Regarding the number of entries shown - since this is ALL the blogs on the site it should be an Admin-controlled feature. Atleast if you ask me!
The ability for blog-writers to choose their target Forum would be very nice, especially if there's also a "throwback" Forum. For example, the Admin sets the target Forum to "Blog Comments" - a user can personally alter this to reflect another Forum but if he doesn't then it stays at the forum set by the Admin.
Oh, is the modified News module any different from the normal one when it comes to other things than "Discuss This"?

Ians, I cleared out the cache and now I get all the forums displaying correctly. *shrug* Thanks!

To be honest the news module I'm running is hacked rather than integrated. I'll be starting to think about how to do this properly next week. I've a list somewhere of some other stuff that needed doing in the news module.

That would figure, I'd an idea the cache entry wasn't going to be correct. It may happen again though, my code can only see it's in cache not if it's correct. It's the problem with cache, we have to trust anyone that updates it.

| Blog Bug Hunt continues: When I click on a members profile and click "Read blogs" I am simply taken to the mainpage where all blogs are shown. If I search for blogs by member I get the 7 latest entries (why seveb btw???) but when I press "next page" I once again come back to the mainpage, even though there are more entries from this person. |
The first bit's a bug, I'll fix that. I'll knock up some sort of automated link checker in future so I can look at a map of links and see they're correct.
|
I've posted an update that fixes that. Version 2.0.99.15
cpgnuke.com/Forums/vie...html#77298
It's a hack though, the link really needs fixing the other end but this will be fine for now.

Thanks for the update! Is it hard or easy to integrate Discuss This into other Modules?
Looking forward to seeing the News Module. My only future problem will be how to integrate this wonderful idea into other Modules as well.

It's pretty easy, I can do it fairly quickly.

You can? What kind of donation can I offer for this customizing? The least thing I can do is offer you a permanent link to your site from mine.
Are you familiar with MReviews and mKnow?

I've added the search facility for Blogs now :
cpgnuke.com/Forums/vie...html#77298
moderator note can we split this topic at the above post and move it to 9.x Blocks/Modules please ? I think it makes sense.

The search is just a quick version I threw together this morning when I had a free few minutes. I'll probably need to improve it.

Affirmative, but it works really well and a well-working search is MILES ahead of "no search" at all!
Once again, thanks! (Am I becoming repetitive?)

Bug Hunt continues: When I click on a username to see that persons Blogs only I have this link:
| Code:: |
http://www.omegaproject.se/Blogs/user/mode=user/nick=Angellis_Ater.html |
But when I click to see a users next seven Blogs it uses this code:
| Code:: |
http://www.omegaproject.se/Blogs/user;/mode=user/nick=Angellis_Ater/offset=7.html |
As you can see there is a rogue ; after the first "user" in the lower link, which I believe causes the link to fail because you can't see the older Blogs. Because whereas I remove that rogue ; it works as it should. Just a heads up!

Found it! In line 120-127 replace with this:
| Code:: |
if ($numrows > 7 && $offset) {
echo '<a href="'.getlink('&file=user&mode=user&nick='.$lookup_username.'&offset='.($offset-7)).'">'._B_PREV.'</a>';
}
if ($numrows > 7 && $offset && $numrows > $page_num) {
echo ' | ';
}
if ($numrows > 7 && $numrows > $page_num) {
echo '<a href="'.getlink('&file=user&mode=user&nick='.$lookup_username.'&offset='.$page_num).'">'._B_NEXT.'</a> ';

OK, I made that change, there was another mangled link as well I noted and corrected.
I've re-posted into the modules forum where this should be really.
