Post subject: Opinions on modified viewtopic template

I'm currently working on a new WoW theme, and i've been enjoying making modifications to the template files far more intensively then i usually would.

Just want to know what people think of this alternative to the regular viewtopic template.

See image below... Wink

awesome.. i do feel however that the bottom line with post count, join date and location looks out of place. perhaps that could be left as it was or perhaps just the location on left and join date and post count as a top bar?just some suggestions

Ok, no need to say it twice, i get the point..... lol (j/k)

I kinda liked them there, i think the left colum where the avatar has too much information there, thats why i moved them, i'll try and snazz it up a bit though.

Pretty good, far better off than the original looks so far.

Damn it looks extremely nice! Very well thought out and produced t31os! You are certainly getting more comfortable with the templatingsystem I see!

Also very cool to see new themes coming from you, it's been a while with the Design Team and all. Just one thing, I'd rather (personally) see that the theme includes no core-file modifications at all, for safety and upgrade-reasons.

I made a lot of modifications with the HL2 theme as well. Not as much with the viewtopic as you've done. I like the template but for me nothing can really beat the stock layout. To me the layout is already optimum.

bump, like to see one like vb that is cleaner, as seeing www-profile-pm- and any other icons on every post is junk imho, leaner would be better as far as page loads go to, if it was a drop down menu when highlighting the mouse over the member name, just my $.02!

I started one a few months back and was having issues with forums pro v2 and ran into a few issues and did not know who to ask, as Djdevon offered a some a few others at Df addons, if anyone has a template made, could they post it!

Thanks Smile

The thread with the easy to use javascript menu works just fine in forums 2 running the latest version of Dragonfly (well at least the one in my profile).

That thread is Here

I don't remember the page you were trying to use, but you want to use {post.S_POSTER_NAME} in posts_list.html

Let me know if you want me to post my code over in the other thread.

Anyways, glad this thread got dug up, gave me some incentive to change around my forums. Here is some testing screenshots.
