Funny because i don't see where in there it says ' We promise to ' or ' Will immediately ' update ranks to correspond with donations. So maybe i'm missing something but i can't see where there was any indication of a promise whatsoever.

You're missing something.

NEMINI simply made a comment. You're fanning the flames and errupting this into a "big deal".

you don't have to say 'i promise to' for something to be a promise. When a woman accepts a proposal does she say 'I promise to marry you' or simply says 'I do' and the rest is implied?

I don't know how you make promises, but thats certainly not the understanding we have here, perhaps it varies from place to place, but you don't assume promises here.

I'm not fanning the flames, i just don't think the comments were justified and it gives the users certain impressions of the site when they read the thread, one sided opinions at that, unless someone else happens to disagree, such as myself.

We? You are a site owner now? Your a Dev? You run the place? Who the hell are you to say what the rules are and decide whats valid and what isn't? Since when did you become the official interpreter of all that is said?

I've waited almost 3 months for a rank image to be updated. It hasn't been, if that doesn't bother you thats fine. it bothers me tho, and if you don't like that tough ____. I don't really give a crap whether you agree or disagree, I didn't start this thread to get t31os's validation. I started it to warn others that incase they are expecting to get their ranks updated as the groups module says will happen (there is that better then saying a promise?) they shouldn't count on it, because it looks like it doesn't happen anymore. (until it does this is a true statement whether you like it or not).

Obviously you don't care, congratulations but just as obvious is that I am not alone, Mystic agrees with me, and we all no mystic and I rarely ever see eye to eye, and Mel seems to agree with me as well. By my count thats 3 to 1 ... you lose. get over it.

I have to agree that the updating of ranks should be occurring in a timely manner. This does not mean every week, but at least once a month go through the list and update donator ranks.

However, I would recommend no one get too 'attached' to their sponsor rank.

Quote::
Rank levels are determined by donations made in the past year.

With that statement, it means your rank could be 'downgraded' if you do not donate each year. You could have a grand total of $300, but if you donated $250 of it two years ago, your rank should be downgraded per the statement above to the appropriate rank.

As for the rank images above Diamond, which was fun swooping in and beating those racing to it ;), they have not been created. Perhaps the developers did not anticipate anyone going above the $299 mark with the "donations in a year" plan? Regardless, those who have met this monetary mark should be recognized as it is stated in writing that they would receive "special ranks", and like I stated above, it should be done in a timely manner.

Do not consider this an official statement, but I can tell you Akamu is working on it as he asked me to create images for these new ranks. I'm not sure on the verbiage just yet, as what is better than a Diamond? I could make a "Sponsor God" rank image, but that may not be religiously appropriate.

Perhaps the Devs would be okay if we were to ask those that have reached the above $299 mark for their input on what the special sponsor ranks should be.

We are currently working on code to update the ranks automatically.

So you are waiting on a special rank above diamond? as Kristen said what should we use? I was thinking double and triple diamond, your thoughts?
Ranks are being updated manually at this time and they are being updated weekly. If for some reason we have missed your donation (say it was made from an address other than your registered one at dragonflycms.org) let us know.

Perhaps something like diamond clusters might extend the range a bit.

Sure, a diamond for each $100 beyond the regular diamond might do the trick.
