Post subject: Still having issues with IP detection in CVS Posted: Wed Jan 18, 2006 12:10 pm |

Whilst running the latest CVS (as always), every IP Address shown in both the who is online block, and in IP_Tracker is being detected as 0.0.0.0
Is this something I have done wrong, or is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

IP_Tracker and a custom Who_where are probably not compatible with CVS.
A previous bug that caused 0.0.0.0 now has a workaround because it's a bug in MySQL regarding binary char \x00 or \x20 (depends on MySQL version)
The IP_Tracker and many other modules must be updated to handle binary data to an SQL fieldtype VARBINARY(17)

The CVS Who-Where block is the same.

@norbie: you did run the new installer to get from 1.0.6 to 1.0.7? (tables changed)
I'm getting normal ip's in the ip details page.
But:

Yes I did run the installer for the upgrade - I wouldn't be able to use the site otherwise.
Everything to do with IPs is only showing 0.0.0.0
For example:

User IP: 0.0.0.0

I just tested with Contact and ip's are showing up fine, here.
