All of a sudden I'm getting these errors:

the following error occured: User 'norbie' has exceeded the 'max_updates' resource (current value: 20000)

I'm getting spammed this error by email with multiple instances by my site, and I've never had it before Shocked

I've taken it up with my webhost and they have confirmed that a script on that database (only dragonfly is installed on it) is using way too many Update queries.

Is there something I can do to minimise them? I've deactivated my IP Tracker module in case that was using too much, but I don't like it being inactive.

Is there a problem with Dragonfly or is just a case that my site has outgrown my hosting's capabilities?

hmmm might be related to me trying to install Forums_Pro earlier, it failed 3 times. i deleted the files apart from the intaller files.

it may be possible that the installer file was stuck in a loop maybe Confused

It could be that you are approaching your host's limits, though I've not experienced that one yet (running 6 different monitoring programs, but low forum useage). I'll move this to Server Chat where others may notice it.

One way you can minimize the impact from IPT is to exclude the major searchens - the simplest way is to exclude the username like Yahoo, MSN, etc. That will at least buy you time, and let you reduce your db size as well.

Thanks for you reply.

I've got that setup already - "dont monitor bots recognised by dragonfly" but i could add keywords like you said.

It seems to be OK now after i deleted all the forumspro installation files. Is it possible that they could have still been running on an infinite loop? I imagine they would use lots of UPDATE queries (thats what i had used too many of).
