Regarding the rank image - I hate to disappoint the conspiracy theorists but I've been slowly working my way through the member list updating the ranks, and fixing others as I spot them in the forums. There have been dozens of changes during the past couple of weeks. A regrettable coincidence, but that's all there is to it - only 4000 to go
Regarding front page stuff, I'm inclined to agree that we shouldn't have any sites there, other than links to genuine community (language) sites.
However, we have received a very good suggestion from alva about having an area/module/whatever where we have a comprehensive evaluation of all themes available i.e. some sort of themes gallery with key information on the type, colors, the various compliances, author, download, etc. etc. Sort of a mix between Downloads / Web Links / Gallery, and then some. This makes a lot of sense since themes are such an important ingredient.
Sensitivities are running high atm because a lot of negative stuff has been posted by people here and on other sites without knowing the real facts (which will not be publicly discussed).
Furthermore, the use of the term "{expletive removed}" is extremely offensive to a wide range of people and is only exacerbating any issues there may be. It is demeaning and inflammatory and we simply won't accept it in any context.
It's not achieving anything other than generating a lot of ill will, so how about we leave it there and get on with some positive changes

What you've done on the themes forum is simple, clear and an excellent change.
Is DF under new / changed management? That sort of information shouldn't be hidden. If folks knew what was going on better I think there would be less negativity. A page in the wiki detailing major players and their role would be helpful also. Looking at the group list isn't the same.
WRT to "{expletive removed}", perhaps you should add it to the bad word list. It's hard to see this word in it's correct historical context on this site.

No changes to management/ownership that I know of though DJ's prolonged absence is obviously hurting us. Information is important in any organization, no matter what its purpose - an area we will improve.
There are a number of areas on the site that have fallen out of date - in attempting to remedy that, I didn't even give a thought to the info in Wiki - thanks.
Good suggestion on the word list - I should have covered that already
PS I am personally not anti-MS or anti-others, but I figure it will add some humor for many others when it appears as the replacement in the word censor.

That is a policy that I agree with. I didn't check any of them for that. Like how you made them into stickies in their respective forums. That will do a lot of people a lot of good. Especially those that have to answer the same question about where to get addons. Though I still think people will ask regardless because they are too lazy or "uneducated" with forums to read stickies.

Regrettably djdevon3, what you say is very true - we have proof of that every day
I'm just going to have to update the respective topics regularly.
Once we get a suitable module developed, it will showcase them more effectively and we can make it searchable, but even then we'll have the problem of people not using the menu

That's truely sad I hope once everything get settle, users will learn to use the site properly.
I do understand once every blue moon, when user is in a hurry to get thing up and running, they will do what needed to be done, but not everyday or every hour.
