I know its been asked before... but is it possible to make a mod of this? My users love the dragonfly look and feel... but they really don't want to have to recreate the forums... and yes, I was using phpbb3 on a live site... it was an accidental thing. They got access to the dev area after a crash, and that was all she wrote.
I put it in a block, but that looks... well, crappy would be the best description.
Any help would be appreciated, and if it is a can't be done, I guess I'll try and move the posts one by one to the forums pro.

For one, I didn't look in chit chat for a module discussion... must have been my logical nature thinking it'd be in the module area.
Second, the DIY answer is an interesting one... you don't have the time, so we - who use DF because of the ease and userfriendliness of the program should go forking DF to do something that would be beneficial to many because it doesn't benefit all.
Third, I am asking if there is a way to do this even. I know the phpbb3 auth model is crazy complex now. I tried encapsulating it in an iframe with crappy looking results. I was wondering if there were other options.

Ok there have been a lot of responses already. I missed out on all these as I did not receive a notification mail.
I liked the point taken up by BC in this regard. That would be to install the phpBB script separately and bridge it with the DF installation. But as Phoenix mentioned that there could be problems with the You Account module and the PMs as well.
This would rule out heavy integration I suppose. I don't many people will bother about administering the two scripts separately. So what do the Devs. think? Is it feasible once PHP 5 comes into existence post February 5, 2008?

Back on topic, there is NO reason to integrate phpBB3 into DF. That's like suggesting that DF is a phpBB addon, and it clearly is not. phpBB2 was the logical choice, back when it was noted that certain community websites should just have a single content and membership interface. Now, this is such a system. Yet, this system's forum code is not phpBB2 any more.
phpBB, of any version, is for websites which need a forum (perhaps ONLY a forum), and whatever they can plug into it.
Dragonfly is for websites which need its specific other capabilities, and a forum already built into it.
I don't blame DJMaze for being upset about these conversations, at ALL. Yet, friend, you probably should take the high road and ignore them.

I've converted a DF database to phpbb3 just to test and compare the search fuctions between DF-Forums, phpBB3 and ForumsPro.
And found that the Df forums (using the wordlist table and the same stopwords list) search querys are almost the same compared with phpBb3 querys... and the results are equal. Also, DF Forums search function is faster than phpbb3.
Forums_Pro Search fuction is slower, but in some cases more "accurate" than DF and phpBB3 to search "exact prashes" that include "common words". The Pro of using of F-Pro is that its search "technique" is not using those large tables...

My guild currently has a phpbb3 forum. And I have this dragonfly 9.2 (with a few added modules/blocks) that has a forum in it.
How can I get the users as well as the forum posts and such into the dragonfly forum?
Is there a way?

Ok scratch that original question here is the revised question lol
Can I use EVERYTHING that is dragonyfly cms 9.2.. ALL except for the forums?
And integrate the phpbb3 forums our guild currently uses into that instead of the forums it comes with?
