I've been using dragonfly for about 6-8 months and found it to be really easy to do what I needed. There seemed to be a lack of new developments and some of the more popular development sites were purchased or moved on to something else. Not sure what the whole story is.I'm in the process of changing to joomla because it has alot of mods and options. It seems much more difficult to use with components, modules, mambots, and plugins. Can someone explain what happened?

Some moved on because there path in the the cms world went in a different direction than DF. Others moved on because of personal reasons. Some moved on because other cms's have more bells and whistles(modules, themes, etc.) Everyone has a different reason. Some have even moved on because df has strict coding standards and they do not agree with them.

Which popular development site was purchased?

I personally stay with DF because its secure, easy for users to learn how to use, etc. and eventually will catch up with other cms. Plus the few people who have stayed and toughed out the rough times are really good people to know.

When DF does catch up with the bells and whistles. I suspect many who have left will return. Currently there is no other CMS who can compare to the speed and security of DF Core. At least I have not found one.

Good luck with Joomla.

Its fast and secure. Thats why I use it. New modules take work and coordination between people. I've been paying people to write new ones. Not a lot of money, but as an incentive and a thank you.

Clubs,Exquisite Corpse, Page Slam, and a PDF Book Creator are all modules I've paid people to write. There is another writing exercise module in the works. They're all open source and available.

Bells and whistles are out there and if one is not, work with people to get them.

Thanks for the insight guys.I'm not at the level that I could really help much or I would.I'm still a fan of DF so I would hate to see it get left behind.
@ Dizfunkshunal
I may have been confused about the purchase because I was talking about your site.I looked around the DF Addons forum and was still confused...lol

Mods or Security? I'll make my own Mods and utilize the Security of DF.
Don't get me wrong, I check my server logs, some other things I utilize and "conduct surveillance" on my site. Guess I place security over everything else and find DF to be the best I've used so far.
Just my 2 cents.
