hi,
After fasthost had some problems that ocured recently i have run in to probelms such as blank page or the ever so common "sorry the data base can not connect we will be back shortly error"
I have ftp access and it seems every thing is there but i just cant work out why our site wont show just blank pages any help would be great.

Thats an issue you need to take up with your host.

They have reset all the passwords for ftp mysql and so on its a matter of damage that needs repairing in the cms i am not 100% sure, or its a case of configureing the new mysql with the site, they wont help me no further ive allready told asked them 3 or 4 times.

I would be finding another host if there unsecure server caused the damage and there not willing to help repair it. If its a change password deal you need to edit includes/config.php and put the new password in there.

Well i think its a lot worst than that i have just reinstalled phpmyadmin and found that i have no Privileges under Create new database.
May have to take you advice and change host

mactabilis you probably dont have privileges using phpmyadmin, but what about using cPanel (or similar) ?

cpannel is fine at fasthost and the dbase pass match the config.php passwords i cant work out why i am getting the blank pages i have no idea.

is your cache folder still writable? if they were messing around with permissions the may have nail folder permissions as well?

empty so its giving a no such file or dir when i chmod with htmlkit.

might try chmodd with an ftp program or through file manager in cpanel see if the folder permissions have been changed.

Permissions seem ok was going to upload the core files and head to index.php but errors like this are there,
