Well, I'm not going with Web Hosting Pad because I just read that supposedly their "awards" are fake. They never really got them, they just posted in their website without even recieving them.
(Hope I'm not violating the rules because it does not say you can't say how bad a host is )

I have been with 1and1 for well over my contract and I am so tired of them. This week, my site went down about ten times, each time requiring me to call it in to have them reboot the server.
Apparently, our site was using way too many resources on our managed dedicated server and was making our server crash. They told me to optimize my db tables, and I did. They told me to optimize my database queries, especially on my homepage, which I couldn't do as I am not savvy in that realm. My biggest qualms were coming from the fact that this all started out of the blue. We don't have an insane amount of visitors any more (about 200-300 a day according to Google Analytics) with light forum posting. There is always a bot on our site (or more).
I don't understand how our site could be maxing out the server. I do have a couple of other sites on the same machine, but one of them is closed and the other is a blog with one entry that hasn't been touched in a couple of months. It simply doesn't make sense to me.
Looking at other people's posts, I think that traffic and content wise, we are at a point where we should be able to move to a shared hosting environment, but at 1and1, they are telling me that if I don't optimize, a server upgrade would be in order.
Can anyone here please help me out? I don't know what to do at this point. We can't afford to move to something more expensive and I don't have the knowledge or the time to figure out how to run a server.

Why not use search or read through some of the more recent posts in this thread... moving your post to a thread already open asking for host suggestions,
FYI: be mindful of the suggestions outlined here

@ magicalobizuth - No offends to 1and1. I had use them in the past. It is good for just a html base site. But for a database site there are far better host out there. I had recommended the same host (look at my earlier post for the name of the host, no needs to repeat) that I used. Or you can go with the other that other users had recommended.
