Hey all.

I would like to mention first off, that I'm somewhat of a noob when it comes to MySQL and the like.

We recently upgraded our website xtremist-2.com, to 9.2.1 from 9.1.x.

I had it loaded fine, and then I went to disable maintenance mode, hit save, and it kicked me off. I tried to go back to admin.php, and it gives me the maintenance page, and no where to log back in.

I have read the FAQ, as well as the Wiki, but all to no avail.
The pHpMyAdmin code that is given, says I have a syntax error.

Code:
UPDATE cms_config_custom SET cfg_value = '0' cfg_name = 'global' AND cfg_field = 'maintenance' LIMIT 1

I have tried also, the prior version which included the ` around each setting. It says invalid syntax as well after using the code without the `thing`.

I *DID* however, get it to work without a syntax error with the following:

Code:
UPDATE cms_config_custom SET cfg_value = '0' AND cfg_name = 'global' AND cfg_field = 'maintenance' LIMIT 1

But even after running that pHpMyAdmin command, it still does not disable maintenance mode.

I do not believe it's a failed installation, due to the fact that I Had it working BEFORE I disabled maintenance mode.

Is there any thing else that I can try before doing a full reinstall of DragonflyCMS? I'd really like to get this going as soon as possible, because I have the time now.

FWIW, I do NOT know pHp, and this is all new to me. Please be kind and treat me like a noob, because that's what I'm going to need.

I really appreciate the help. Thank you!
Steve

There are several issues that I would need to ask...

1) Did you disable all blocks other than default prior to upgrading?
2) Did you make sure all the Collation in the database was set to utf8_general_ci prior to upgrading?
3) Did you set the site theme to Default prior to updating?
4) Did you disable all modules other than default prior to upgrading?

If not, go to your site via FTP and rename the following folders to reflect the old files. Modules, Blocks, Themes. Next, upload all the new files for 9.2 to your site. See if you can get in then. If not, read on...

Next, I would suggest you backup your Database via PhpMyAdmin, then try to find the sql command to change all the collation to the new utf8_general_ci. If that doesn't work, wipe it clean and do a clean install of 9.2. Once it's installed, running and you can get in, start installing the modules one at a time. Once all those are done, you can upload the database tables to the corresponding modules to update the information. You'll have to manually change all the Collation on ALL the updated tables to the new collation.

Once those are done, start on the custom blocks and do the same procedure as the modules.

Good luck and if you don't need any information from your old database, simply wipe it clean and start the site over... Wink

Well at this very moment, I am in the middle of wiping everything off, and starting from scratch.

I have the backed up SQL from the old site. I have deleted everything in the public_Html folder except a folder that I Have a lot of files located, that will be used in the site.

I also have an original SQL backup from 9.1, as a failsafe I can install the old 9.1 back on here and restore the backed up SQL to start back where I left off this morning.

Also, I have a full home directory backup so I can simply restore that as well. This is becoming complicated.

1.) Yes I did disable all blocks.
2.) I was unaware of the utf8_general_ci part, so no on that.
3.) Theme was set to default, correct.
4.) Yes I disabled all modules.

After installing the upgrade, everything was working great.
The Forums Pro module wasn't functioning, so I uninstalled, and reinstalled the module. It asked to import from basic forums, I did not. I did however import the SQL file I had backed up for the forums pro before. That successfully loaded.

Then, it failed. I wanted to see what everything looked like as a user, not an admin - so I hit disable Maintenance Mode. Then it kicked me, and from there I couldn't access admin.php (it displayed maintenance mode.)

FWIW, we have CPANEL.

Also, can you give me a bit more detail about the utf8_general_ci? Never saw that part in the upgrade tips/FAQ. As well, about the Collation? Thanks!

I see you got this post pulled out of rule breakers.. Wink

Sorry to the site admins, I apparently missed Nismo's non-compliance of credentials. Sad

Nismo, Click HERE! to see DJMaze's response to the collation issues. I had the same issues and if you mix collations, you'll have a lot of issues and a broken site.

Go in through PhpMyAdmin and you should see the main collations used. Don't stop there, go into each table and look and fix all you see. Wink
