Can anyone reccomend me any Server Software that will run on windows that will run Dragonfly?
I have tried XAMPP, but its a bastard, the best ive got out of it... is my sites homepage, but nothing else works, and that was after HOURS of screwing around with its confic, and well, i gave up on that crap.
Can anyone Reccomend any decent free server software thats pretty much ready to go?

LOL, I read the title of this thread and thought "I'll tell the poster to use XAMPP, it's so easy to set up"....then I opened the thread and read it
So, er, dunno, I found XAMPP a doddle, I have it on a Windows 2003 server at work running the company intranet, and it has always served me well as a Windows test bed for DF. I couldn't tell you how to set it up, I just ran the installer and it all worked first time out of the box.

lets just say, it wasnt that fun for me, it was almost as if half of it was missing, and the other half was in Moron mode.
What version are you running?

I'm running Apache 2.0, but I had to download and configure php, MySql, ImageMagick, along with other assundries... I remember it took me a few days to find all the right pieces and set them up. But it was cake compared to the 3 weeks I struggled with Linux! Guess setting up a webserver is not the time to learn a new OS tho!

I agree with Kendle, XAMPP is so easy I even use it on Ubuntu rather than spend the time configuring and starting/stopping (there is an XAMPP Panel on Linux to start/stop everything). But... for DF work please note that you do not need the full XAMPP. XAMPPLite (at the bottom of the XAMPP for Windows page) has more than you need: Apache, MySQL, PHP and eAccelerator. The smaller package makes things simplier.

Hey Dizfunkshunal, How the Hell do you turn off the "Maximum execution time of 300 seconds" as we cant import out database with it like that.
and we have tried changing it to 3600. hell, every max execution time setting we could find we made 3600, and still no change.
| Code:: |
max_execution_time = 3600 ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds
max_input_time = 3600 ; Maximum amount of time each script may spend parsing request data |
But we still get the 300 second error.

There is a cool php code if you want to import a large database. It's called BigDump and you can download it here:
www.ozerov.de/bigdump.php
I also use WAMP (an old version though, too lazy to update).
I think you can fix the 500 error by activating somekind of php or apache module, they can be (dis)activated with right or left click on the WAMP tray icon next to clock.
However, I don't know which one needs to be activated and if this is 100% the issue.

So small? And you're trying to import(upload) it locally? It should be done in under a minute then I guess.
