So switch it off? Admin -> Security. Disabling flood protection is the first thing I do on a new DF install.

Isn't this a Browser/Server issue? I'm confused now.

I've never not been able to solve log-in / cookie problems by ensuring the values of server domain / path / cookie domain / path are correct in cms_config_custom.

I conceed though that ensuring they're correct can often require editing the database externally, such as using a tool like phpMyAdmin, because if they're wrong DF won't recognise you as having permission to make them right. If you have to alter cms_config_custom through phpMyAdmin, make sure you delete /cache/config_MAIN_CFG.php as well.

Not a problem with any of my sites - just FF3 is confusing my user and admin logins now...
I've actually got the opposite problem - I have a site where they don't want the password to be remembered, but I can't figure out where to turn that off...

Well, the main problem is updating.

Me and ben tried again yesterday... and as allways, it ended in Epic Fail.

Run the install.php, it bitches about a Duplicate entry in the datamase, so, you fix that issue, it bitches about another duplicate entry, so you remove that, it bitches about another one, so you remove that, and what do you know, the first one is back. along with all the others.

Its pretty much just an endless loop, and its too much trouble to bother with.

I'm only asking for errors details, that is all, However the installer should resolve duplicate entry errors automatically, and as far I can see it does that, but some funny not premeditated exception could be your issue.

Duplicate entry error normally happens when creating UNIQUE keys ... and the system should prevent this error from happening, looking forward for a detailed bug report or at least error details when posting ... no just complains.

From what it looks like, it almost looks like the installer is creating the errors its complaining about.

Cos we would delete the duplicate thing it was complaining about in the Database, then trying again, and that entry would be back.

If i remember correctly, the first one had somthing to do with Blocks.

When i see ben next, iil get him to run the installer again, and fix the bugs as they come up, and copy everything down to notepad, and post it here...

It will be the sise of a Novel tho.

He should be back on Monday or so.

Its not directed to you, but many of our users that try to "fix" their issues without letting us knows about them. Easy and clear as the water: detailed error and consecutive follows up would increase data integrity for everyone.

Installer, manual or incorrect code/tables modifications or plugins issue?

Often users doesn't want to loose previous code modifications and hacks thus causing faulty DragonflyCMS upgrades. As website owner and module developer (kind of, never have time for my modules) I'd love the possibility to HOOK my own module functions into DragonflyCMS core functions/code or ANY 3rd party module to be executed at a predefined position. But again I've never had the need to modify the core, so my upgrades have always been ok.

Post subject: Re: [solved] Updating to Forums Pro (not a bug)

Well, From what i can think of off the top of my head, is with Blocks.

I am unable to create new blocks.

and the First error in the update was somthing to do with blocks. When we try to update it on monday again, (i would try but i have no idea on how to backup anythign with the server were using, dsent have Cpanel) The first error in updating about a Duplicate entry is somthing to do with Blocks.

It Could be a simptom of the same issue of not meing able to create new blocks....

So iil get the code from attempting to create a block.

Quote::
SQL Queries:

admin\modules\blocks.php

* LINE 329: SELECT weight FROM PHS_DF_blocks WHERE bposition='l' ORDER BY weight DESC
* LINE 346: INSERT INTO PHS_DF_blocks VALUES (NULL, '', 'Ich Bin Eine Testamabox', 'Test box', '', 'l', '15', '0', '3600', '0', 'english', '', '0')

includes\db\db.php

* CMS Warning line 51: On /admin.php?op=blocks While executing query "INSERT INTO PHS_DF_blocks VALUES (NULL, '', 'Ich Bin Eine Testamabox', 'Test box', '', 'l', '15', '0', '3600', '0', 'english', '', '0')" the following error occured: Column count doesn't match value count at row 1 In: D:\wamp\www\potholestudios.com\admin\modules\blocks.php on line: 346

cache\tpl_Easy_header.html.inc

* Notice line 8: Undefined index: S_ADMIN_CSSMENU
* Notice line 85: Undefined index: S_ADMIN_CSSMENU

Im not seeing anything that looked similat to what the error was in trying to update.

You have attempted to updrage so the blocks tables along other tables have changed. Now you are using the same database with 9.0.6.1 files.

Thats why you got the error.

cPanel, phpMyAdmin and DragonflyCMS gives you the possibility to backup a full database or a single table.

Nah, i restored all the Databases back to the backups before we tried updating.

That error is after restoring a full backup, that DB has never had an update tried on it. and i have Block issues, that also seem to be related to the Update issue.
