|
Hi,
I want to have a different page for logged in users than for users who are not logged in.
This means I want normally see a page if a normal visitor comes to the site and if he logges in, i want to see an other page.
I thought I could check in my index.php if one is logged in or not - and therefore redirect him to site a or b.
How can I check if a user is logged in?
Greetings,
Bullety

You can do that through Modules and Blocks control. You can set Blocks / Modules that you want Registered Users to see and what Blocks / Modules for guess to see.

I am not sure what you meant by start page.
Typically, by default when someone goes to yoursite.com it will show everyone the same main (home) page. Now you can set that main page to show anything (IE: News (already default), Forums, etc...).
Now, you can control these access and have it set to Registered Users Only on anything you want Registered Users to see, then guess will not be able to see them.

If you want a news or article based front page, then Pro_News will let you do just this. You can have multiple Sections, 1 or more Sections can be shown to Visitors only, others for Registered Users, and some for both, all from the same actual Home/start page.
You can download from here or my site, but before you deploy, be advised that there will be a new version out in as little as a few days.

Oh! You should have said that in the first place. And yes ProNews will work for that purposes.

In case anyone would like to make seperate start pages, one way would be to have two blocks, one viewable by annonymous users and the other by registered users. The blocks could then have redirection code for the required start page.
