The mod for the survey comments is pretty much the same as for the news comments. Same function names and all that.

Looks like Phoenix updated the Blogs Plus module to include CAPTCHA for anonymous commenting as well.

This seems to be holding up pretty well as far as I can tell.

I'm thinking I might put together a little mod pack to make it easy for people to add CAPTCHA to news comments, survey comments, and maybe DF_Multimedia comments.

Later I'd like to look at doing this for forum posting as well.

Also, I'm thinking I might change the implementation a bit. If you've seen Phoenix's implementation in Blogs Plus, it allows anonymous users to enter a name. So I will probably shamelessly rip-off his way of doing it. Smile Assuming he doesn't mind. (Hope not, cause this ain't the first time. :b)

I think it was Albert Einstein who said, "The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources." Smile

Hey there Andy, love this feature. Is there an easy way to implement this into the ContactPro mod?

I'll install this on my site and see what I can do. Smile

CAPTCHA for DF_Multimedia commenting sorta fell apart due to some interactions with javascript I haven't quite been able to figure out yet.

If contacts pro doesn't use javascript, I can probably do it. If it does use javascript, maybe I can figure something out after more research.

Sorry I haven't been around, been some personal issues I touched on in the Personal Pages thread. Hopefully I'll be back at it now.

MikieMouse: I don't know if it is just me, but I've noticed at times the ehpdesigns site doesn't keep me logged in properly, and I think that is preventing me from downloading the Contacts Pro module from: ehpdesigns.com/Downloa...id=23.html

If you could e-mail a copy to me: personman_145@hotmail.com

I'll be happy to take a look and see what I can do.

In the meantime, I'll keep trying to get it from the site.

MikieMouse: Interesting.. I only have that problem with your site if I don't preceed it with "www."... Once I changed that, it worked fine, so I'll get this installed and take a look.

If I'm not mistaken, it looks like Phoenix has already done this:

Thanks for the info on that, Andy...didn't even realize there was an update to the mod. Doesn't matter anymore since I'm pulling all my sites off DF (two down and two to go) and moving them to either Joomla or WordPress (per their request).

But again, I thank you for all you've done. Best wishes.

Do you have any plans as far as maintaining DF_Multimedia?

I was actually thinking about mentioning before, that if you wanted me to, I could package up some of my changes against the current version, and put a release together that you could test and approve.

I tend to bite off more than I can chew, but I could take over development of DF_Multimedia if you are going in another direction. Or alternatively, I could make my own branch, and credit your team for developing the original module.

In any event, it has been a pleasure to work with you, wish you the best!

I will no longer be maintaining/supporting any of the mods/hacks/etc I created.

I might house them for download on my re-designed site, but that would be it.

If you'd like to take over the Multimedia mod (or branch off with your own and build a better one) that's cool with me.

Just a lot of politics with DF that have me burnt out and I need a fresh start.

Take care and its been a pleasure working with you.
