A Interesting article about the implications of giving a user Instant membership using a "Connect Service"
CNN News Report
It appears that the responsiability for complying with the Coopa Act still is upon the "Site". Remember Not all "Connect Services" Share The Birthdate of a user.
And most do not make the users email address available they only foreward Filtered messages to their member for you.
Since the fine for "collecting" Personal Data from anyone under 13 is
$10,000 USD each
I am bothered about Just registering a New Member with such "Skimpy" Info provided by the "Connect Service"

Interesting post Bulldog.
At the moment you have to agree that your over 13 years of age to register.
Could we not add a Date of Birth field that is also used to check the users age?
Then that is 2 points we are checking during registration.
I dont think there is much else you can do apart from using a proper Age verification service.

As far as I know yes and was told it was completed

Agreed.
The last time I tried it out on the test site, it was looking really good. Seemed to be working well.
Hopefully Tom will be back soon with some sort of release.

Hi everyone
I finaly managed to get hold of Tom
and i was right he is big time not well and will be going into hospitial soon.. so we wish him a speedy and pain free recovery..
He did mention to me, he might by the end of the week be able to get facebook connect wrapped and packaged up and placed as all the coding is done on it...and ready to go

Hi Everyone...
Well spent the day at the hospital. After all kinds of expensive tests CT Scans and MRI scans and bla bla bla.
The Good News is they did not find any of those really bad things. That's a real relief....
The bad news is they are still looking why i am having so much discomfort Augh.....
I will try an knock this facebook thing out in a few days
