Pro_News 3.2.1 is out already.

Very soon after the last release, but there was an issue, plus a nifty new feature that I wanted to get out there. The issue first:

!!! IMPORTANT: There is a nasty bug in earlier versions of 3.2 and 3.1! If you edit an article which already has forum-based comments attached to it, that link is broken. No data is lost, but the link from Article to Forum Thread is dropped. (Link from Forum thread to article is ok.) !!! PLEASE UPGRADE !!!

Nobody's reported tripping over it yet, so I wanted to get the solution out there ASAP.

New features added at v3.2.1 (besides the bug fix):

• Automatic Featured Content Slider (type 3) via new template index2fcs;
• Coppermine Batch Upload for Administrators hack included, and accessible from Pro_News Admin Menu;
• Support for MySQL run in STRICT_TRANS_TABLE mode; and
• Import from News now copies over number of reads.

Latest templates add an enhanced version DynamicDrive's Featured Content Slider type 3, the complex one, the 4th and last one on their demo page. I've added an each-way slide on the slider control - a slide on the slider - so it can handle more than the original 4 or 5 images - how about up to 32 photos!!! The template does all the prep work for you, so there is no work on your part at all! Swap your existing template for the new one and you're done!!! Quite easy to add into you own custom templates too, the new html is quite well contained.

Also the release now also includes a Coppermine hack for Batch Upload Pictures! So you can upload those 32 images without using ftp.
