The primary intent is enhanced useability for new and existing users.
- uses jQuery validation to enhance registration, all browsers plus IE6
- now requires double email entry to minimize error
- initial registration requires username and email
(checks against existing users using ajax plus PHP fallback)
- then registration has a second step
(also with validation to minimize data loss if errors)
- where js is disabled, DF error checking has been changed to minimize data loss
- your account has a css tabbed menu, no js
(previous block removed)
- tab for public view items - summary, profile, avatar.
- tab for configuration - prefs, private, password, username/email, homepage, comments.
- tab for user activity - summary, blogs, gallery, posts, topics, watchlists.
- tab for user groups
- tabbed menu extended to private messages
- private messages language integrated with YA
(no longer reliant on forums lang)
- password recovery modified to eliminate confusing code entry
(relies on re-activation link only)
- provision for forgotten username, similar to lost password
- admin option to allow viewing of user profiles on a groups basis
i.e. this can be visitors, registered, moderators, admins etc.
- admin option to allow username change, requires email re-activation
- user email change now requires email re-activation
- all fully templated.
- theme based styling with account.css covering validation and jQuery curve
- uses jQuery curve to round container corners, all browsers
- for enhanced useability, the verdana font is provided for security codes
- core database tables untouched but reactivation table and couple of main config flags added

I have seen this in my account page on your site, it is practically a work of art, so functional and a great step forward from what we have.
Thanks for your all your work on Dragonfly.

I only did the coding - the guys at arrse.co.uk, GoodCO and BadCO, are the real ones to thank - they're the ones who've been pushing for this.

This is a part of DF that was long overdue an overhaul and Phoenix's work really takes DF forward IMHO.
Even without the raft of other improvements Phoenix has done, the move to a templated system is very welcome and a more user friendly password recovery system cures one of my biggest complaints about DF. Sounds petty, but I wonder how many users have given up over the years as a result of the old system.
Embarrassingly though I haven't actually got it live online yet as I want to do ForumsPlus at the same time. Advice to all though is to upgrade as soon as possible - I don't think I'm exaggerating to say that this module is an absolute must-have for all DF sites.
Thanks again Phoenix.

I'll add my congratulations to those above. Can I request/suggest that it is taken forward into the next DF release?

Thanks Phonenix..
I did uncover something unusual after installing this on my site however...
The ability to choose a different theme from site default won't work. The drop down box is there with all the options and if you select a theme, you get the message that's everything went fine, but the theme remains the same as set by the admin for the site.
I tried this on a Linux and Windows based server a get the same results. Any ideas?

@BadCO, greenday2k
It seems we may do that - an extra advantage is the capabilities available in jQuery (including ajax and the various plug-ins like Validate and Curve).
@mikimus
As I indicated in the first post, I'm only dealing with Support Here (for now):

Hi Phoenix, I tried to log into your site to respond to problems I am having. I am using the hardwired theme and when I send a PM the message text area is out of whack. I tried to do the fix you have on your site and it does not do anything except create a bigger gap. The text area is directly next to the tabs.
I also noticed that your site does the same as mine when a user requests the password it gets sent to the e-mail when I try to use the emailed password it says that it is not correct. When I use the old one it still works.
When I request the username there is no confirmation that it mailed and I get nothing in my e-mail.
Thanks
