Hi,

i have one member and he get the error:

Banned from site due Bad IP

I didn't ban him, or someone else of the crew, so what could it be. I have attached a screen of it.

Thanks in advance.

Browse in your Admin -> Security -> Banned IP's section for his IP.
The details of his IP explain the problem.

DJ, the problem is in correcting it - we can remove the flood bit through admin, but you also have to remove the IP from the banned list, and that currently has to be done directly through the database.

I'm sure Nano has it on his list, but there are more pressing issues for now Smile

I guess you can't be sure, unless you turn it off.

However, that does remind me of another key point - search engines.

Before people become concerned about loss of search engine traffic from flood protection, you need to ensure that you use the updated robots.txt in your distribution.

It provides for a crawl delay of 20 seconds - that is respected by most legitimate bots. The ones that don't respect it, get banned automatically when they inevitably flood. You can vary this downwards, but I don't recommend less than 4 or 5 seconds.

admin => security => flooding ... just make sure you have all templates file or use the default or dragonfly theme becouse the last two has all templates files that you need to select and delete his ban.

Ye thanks. I saw in another topic about this that I was missing some files...

I've add them and the ban is removed. Still thanks Wink

Hmmm...all well and good unless the ip for the admin account gets banned (as has happened on our site).

Anyone know how to get around that?

In the cms_security table, you will have to look for the record where you are banned and delete that record. Sorting by the ban_time column might help locate the record.

mistically, fill up your server specification on your profile since since would be useful to know what DragonflyCMS version are you running.

However if you are using > 9.1.1 you just need to make sure that you have all templates files for "default" theme.
