hello i18n specialists.
I am translating another file to romanian using this site's CPGlang module and I'm having an awful time trying to understand what the previous translator was thinking when he/she was doing the translation. you know ... OK, Cancel and Save - best discribe their actions in english.
I would strongly appreciate another column (or more?) in CPG lang that would have the original language the script was written on: English or German (thinking eventCalendar)
or better yet, let the user chose an already translated language (or more languages) in 1 or more comumns to figure out what the text is really supposed to mean.
... this would help make better translations, and less debuging would be needed searching the site and finding out that, hey! - "Store" (for example) was a
verb and not a
noun....
hehe. I guess the more languages a person knows the better the translation will be.
I'm native romanian and I have difficulty finding translations to words like 'computer' or 'links' since these do really not exist in my language. Having another column with 'ordinateur' and 'links' in French and another column with 'calcolatore' and 'links' in Italian would ring a bell and I would realize that I can use 'calculator' for 'computer' and 'link-uri' for 'links' - since no other language has a translation for 'links'
(well of course they do. this was just an example - 'links' mot-a-mot in romanian has to do with chains... and I cannot say "chain to this site" sounds really funny in an errotic sense.. hehe)
all these thoughts run trhough my mind while translating...

hope you'll understand my frustration and improve the CPGLang module.
having the original version of the text will help with tags:
ie:
You are Anonymous user. You can register for free by clicking <a href="".getlink("Your_Account&op=new_user")."">here</a>
this makes use of
.getlink()
then the previous verision of:

Cheers!
Thank you.
