Post subject: Unable to move blocks order in admin

Hi there.

In the admin, in blocks.

In the left side is the modules list, in each module opens a list with the active blocks after a click. So far so good.

The blocks there can be moved by drag & drop to change ther order. Works so far so good. After a click on "Update Changes" below it seems to be saved. But the order does not change!!!!! Sad

I have tried many blocks in many modules. Every time the change is not saved. Also the page is viewed with the old order. No error message/warning and so.

Tried with firefox and ie, on win and linux.

I need to get a block to the top. Would you like to help??

Many thx

Ask your host if they have "suhosin" installed, if they do then you should updated to the last 9.2 CVS.

downloads -> core -> cvs -> 9.x

install/upgrade informations are on the Stable version only.
Which version are you upgrading from?

Just replacing all files you will successfully upgrade.

However experience and 3rd party modules make things different, you must backup at least your database, make sure you select DROP TABLES on your client backup window (eg DragonflyCMS, PHPMyAdmin, SQLyog etc etc).

Thanks, because it's a production site I am making a exact copy of it, already uploading all the files overwriting the old.

Then I will try to sort the blocks and move the changes in the db to the old site.

Uhh.. after upgrade the order of the blocks is already changed in the way i like it. Maybe because of some changes i made in the tables blocks and blocks_custom.

But even after the upgrade (all files overwritten) i can not change the order.

After click on update changes the page reloads the old order again Sad

What happens if you change to the default theme temporarily and try and change the blocks.

Still the same.

I uploaded and overwritten all files so the themes are overwritten too.

Happens with default and dragonfly themes.

OK, for now I changed the bid's of two blocks in the blocks table so the order is also changed......

But would like to get it working in the CVS version at least.

Make sure you correctly uploaded
admin/
includes/
themes/default/

And as Rusty_ said you need to use the default theme only for a greater stability.

Try again.

Logout, close the browser and log back and try again.

And just to be sure clear the cache, try again.

Double checked, i have overwritten all files, even the themes. (9.2.3.2 CVS)

Working on default theme.

Logged out, cleared cookies, tried on clean browser FF 3.6 in VM.

Noting. I can move the box-names around, after a click on update changes the page reload as usual, all changes are lost.
