Post subject: [solved] Cannot login as admin after upgrade to 9.3

I've just upgraded my site from 9.2.3.3 to 9.3 and now can't log in as admin. My page ...com/admin.php shows up but when I click login the boxes just clear but nothing happens - not a message about an incorrect password or anything. I thought perhaps I had my password wrong so I reset that using the advice here but that has made no difference. I also notice that I can try as many times as I like to log in and I don't get locked out of the page - so it looks as if it is not submitting.

I've tried changing the theme using phpmyadmin too but that makes no difference.

Any clues?

There are very few differences between those two versions and none of them should create any kind of issues.

No really need to, but clear your cookies just in case.
Can you login as user?

Cleared cookies, no change.

Can log in as a normal user.

Have discovered I can log in using Chrome, not with ie9, nor ie9 in compatibility mode.

And Safari on Mac seems to have the same issue.

Hmm, can't upgrade my other sites til this is fixed. Do I need to submit a bug report?

Someone else is having issues with FF3 only, you can report a bug however you can use other browsers when you want to admin your site.

I've tested with every major browser on Windows XP and its all good on my side, if I can't reproduce it's harder to fix.

So for now we have FF3, IE9 and Safari on Mac. List is getting longer.

I'll work on this issue tomorrow, I just finished working on a new security feature and in cvs already: dns blacklists Smile

Message from Nano:

Change the value in config_custom table for cookie.domain, delete cache and try to login again.

changed the value of cookie.domain to be the same as server.domain (it was the same without the www. bit), deleted the cache, no difference.
