i could be being stupid, but couldn't a search.inc file be included in your_account module to do this? That really would be a quick addition.

Dunno.. I'm not a programmer... just an end user.

Just as long as it can search the custom fields as well.

ok, no problem. think that would be the answer, thing that worries me is that djmaze suggests a new module. - and i can guarantee he knows more about it than I do Smile

anyone know any problems with just using a search.inc?

i'm sorry but i'm working on different things at the moment.
One of them is a "search pro" module but i keep the source and related stuff a bit quiet untill there's a good base.

What i can tell is that the 'search pro' is system where any module/add-on can make use of and that it is similar to the current BB search but way more advanced with an complete admin area and full unicode compliance.

It will be similar to google and makes use of soundex

Sounds really good, does it need implementing in each module like the current search does?

I'd tried e107 and for custom user info fields, there's actually a drop down menu which can be customised to the value info and total drop down selections and default value...

I'd love to see it on dragonfly now that I'd forsaken e107.

Erm, I know its a big request but once the drop down menu selection module is done, can it be searchable also?

ie customised info such as 'sex' with 2 values [ male/female] when searching user details, the page will find out all the extended info and options and allow search based on it.

ie search sex [ drop down menu selection on either male/female ]

erm, I actually tried xoop, the newest version gave the option of adding additional fields, in single/multiple selections and in yes/no buttons.

However, the cms itself is working very slow and that it still cannot allow the searching of users using the customised fields.

I still like the dragonfly for its speed/integrated forum/etc.

So, will dragon fly be having something like the user extended fields with select/radio/checkbox options and make it searchable via these options soon?

Wow, this one would be great! I just posted in this thread: www.cpgnuke.com/Forums...rname.html Confused

Hopefully DJMaze can find the time to complete his efforts with the Search Pro thingy! Very Happy
