Post subject: Coppermine Album Permissions

I may be missing something but this is what I wanted to do.

As I've migrated my users from nuke, and Menalto Gallery, I wanted to save them the trouble of re-uploading all their pictures by using the batch upload facility.

Now I know I can use that as admin to upload to any album.

Here's the trouble, I wanted to create an album that belongs to a particular user and batch upload to it, but the only way I can see to do that is to log in as that user and create an album whilst logged in as them which would require me changing their password.

What I can't see that I can do, is create an album as admin, and assign ownship of it to a user.

That way, I could create the album as admin in the user's name, and upload all their old pics for them.

Can anyone give me a clue as to whether this facility already exists?

I would find this useful also - has anybody any ideas whether this is available in admin mode.

Yes You can do that ... follow me please

You need to know that:
users pictuers are stored in folders in modules/coppermine/albums/userpics/ directory
  •
any user folder have the user id as name (user id=3 and folder's name=10003 or user id=23 and folder's name 10023 and so on)
So what You can do is:
1 create users folders in modules/coppermine/albums/userpics/
  •
2 as admin create all the albums in the users gallery and make sure you give to any album the title previosly choosen by the user
*as you will notice all the albums will be owned by you so You need to modify the database info so
  •
3 browse cpg_albums table and you will notice that in category column there will be lots of 10002 (2=god's id = You), so You must change thoose numbers now
*those numbers will be equal to their folders name
  •
4 upload users pictures to their folder and use batch facility as usual
*You can upload in modules/coppermine/albums/userpics/ as well but in both cases you need to choose the destination album
  • I will raccomend you to do User By User to recude troubles possibility but will take longer, I'm sorry for my english but I'm doing my best
