Post subject: images show up as a "place holder" image

Yes, I have searched ALL of the items that have to do with images, photos, and directory permissions...

That said, I have been working on fixing the issue of why our photos do not show up after loading, they show up as a "place hloder" image, not the real photo.

Our web site also used Gallery 2.o and I am using different albums for CPGNUKE for the same pictures. I have uploaded the photos into:
/public_html/html/modules/coppermine/albums
and:
/public_html/html/modules/coppermine/albums/userpics
all of these directories have the proper chmods on them as per the installation instructions.

All of our regular photos in Gallery work just fine, but coppermine fails to show them properley.

I understand that the support group gets MANY of these questions, so here is a suggestion:
If so many people have the same problem, then maybe there is a fault in the install process, or setup, or in how pictures are handeled ?

Maybe if someone can answer this posting in a simple "English" complete response, instead of see article xyx in forum abc... others may benifit and those that support these products can devote thier time to real problems..

Yes I am flusterated, tools like these should be simple enough for stupid people like me with only 33 years of working with computers...

PS: I don't have any grudge with anybody, so be kind if you respond, I just would like to see this resolved for all of those that have problems like this..

BTW, if you are interested in seeing what I mean, our web site is:

THanks for listening.

1. are the pictures physically located at /albums/userpics/batch/ ?

2. do you have some kind of hot linking protection enabled? For some reason I am getting a 500 error when I try to view the picture.

Yes there is a photo in the batch directory, it is: thumb_test.gif. and in userpics there are 5 .gif files, and under albums there is : userpicss1004 & userpics.

kdreger - of all the pictures I checked they are all looking for the pictures in the batch directory, did you do a batch upload the delete the pictures? You can't delete the pictures. Right click on any of the missing photos, click properties and you'll see the path it's being called from.

I've split this into a separate topic since it is not related to the other one Smile

there is a path problem in your cookies which suggests an incorrect setting in your config - do you have an absolute path instead of normal relative path?

This also shows when you view an image properties.

for some reason your image paths are still wrong
www.hspig.org/home/hsp....thumb.jpg should be www.hspig.org/html/mod....thumb.jpg

The /home/hspigorg/public_html is what needs to be removed, just need to figure out what is putting it there.
