My main point which seems to be getting lost, is that the "content" is in the index area, the links to more content are in the user block.

One thing I thought of, a possible solution, is to give the block some extra style make it different from the rest. Like Phoenix said if you can create one of these for each module on the site then the user would be use to seeing it there.

One thing is that you can modify the code for your site to your hearts content even changing the user blocks back to a top center block, that is the power of opensource and php.

Hmm you know maybe your right. That's probably going to be the first thing I do is write a Your_Account module to replace the block. I'll make it nice and neat with nice graphic buttons and all. The graphic buttons were stripped out and replaced with text. I need graphics.

At first glance (back when this was a new feature) I found myself going, "Where the heck are the edit function buttons?". It tooks me about 10 seconds to realize that the menu functions had been moved to the block which I didnt' notice at first glance. Frankly, I wasn't even looking at the blocks.

My personal feelings at first were that I didn't like it this way. I too wanted the menu content right in front of me, versus having to hunt for it. Now, I'm used to it and realize that it's okay over there, but the one thing (for newbies everywhere) that I would like to see is a tad more user friendlyness by:

1: Offsetting colors for the block (as suggest above by Akamu), even a different background/forground color scheme with opposite coloring would do wonders (to make the block stick out).
2: Arrows pointing to the block from the "My Account ⇒" title line. A little Reverse arrow first, and the words, "<= Select Function From Menu" would do wonders to point users in the right direction.

I realize that some may consider this to be overcomplicating the matter, but in the big picture, it simplifies use of the application, especially for those that aren't yet used to Dragonfly's different user interface, or for users that frankly aren't used to having these functions at all (like a regular non-permissioned website).

I don't think it's neccessary to make it a top center block as I think that as time goes on, people will get used to expecting certain functions to be in certain places as a standard. I also think that other modules will eventually be managed in this way (with menu options being a temporary block that pops up as the top left block on your screen the way this one does) and thus it makes it very easy for users to predict where to go to edit/select functions. In fact, I'd almost like this to become the standard method as it really cuts down on page load times (reduced images, etc...) and makes it easy once you get used to it.

Just my two cents.
