Hi
I cannot find where to delete a member in the new 9.0
In 8.3 I would click on members and had the option to delete.
But on this one I only have edit user and add user no delete.
Anyone know where that option is ? If there is one
Thanks.

We have removed the option to delete users in 9.x because it causes too much trouble. Forum posts for that user are not removed, nor are other items such as news articles. I suggest that you suspend the user instead.

Thanks.
I just wanted to re register him so I can log in as him in order to move his posts from my 8.3 to 9.0.
I guess I'll just get him to change his password and give it to me.

Open PHPMYADMIN and remove the Table Row in ' cvs_users ' that relates to that user.
NOTE:: Do not! delete the whole table or you'll lose all your user accounts.
cvs being the prefix you choose for your database tables when you installed, so it will vary from person to person.
Like Trevor mentioned though, this does not remove posts made by that user, but you wanted to delete him and this will.
If you simply want to access his account, just goto ' Modify ' under ' Users/Members ' and change his password.

Go to:
Admin/Members Config/"tick" Allow user self deletion
Then when they have deleted themselves anything left behind, you can go clean up.

Did I read this thread correctly? A user can be given the right to delete themselves, but admins cannot delete a user?
Things that make you go hmmm...

Members and Admins have the right to delete their account.
However the account doesn't get deleted completely, it gets "suspended".
The user doesn't get deleted from the database because that will give loads of trouble in the Forums, Coppermine, News and a lot of other places.

Ah... Now that made more sense. I tend to confuse easily.
Can't wait to fire up Dragonfly this weekend and start playing.

Thats why I said, "after they delete themselves, anything left behind you can go and clean up."
Using mysql to remove them is a simple process. If you dont want'a deal with deleting all of the forum posts or news articles (left behind by the removed users), assign the task to one of your moderators or site admins.

Seems silly to go on a search and destroy mission for all traces of a user on a site when they are suspended, unless you are preventing problems with links to their PM, WWW etc...
I would think leaving their content would be the best course of action, otherwise you'd have weird issues like people quoting a removed post or some such strangeness.
Have we not watched enough Sci Fi to understand that going back in time and attempting to change history can be a bad thing?
