Still is very obscure to me why it works with a scratch install and not when upgrading from 8.2b. Nothing in both db seems to affect compression.

Maybe files got corrupted while uploading to the server (this has happend before)
By uploading the file again all the screwed up files got corrected and that fixed your problem.

Someone had problems a few months ago and it took me a day to upload each file properly on that crappy server

Ok i have a update for all blank page people.
This is mostly caused by wrong files (parse errors).

Open cmsinit.inc and find
PHP:
error_reporting(0);

change that into
PHP:
//error_reporting(0);

then you will see where the error occures

I've downloaded 24/12 6:00, and it works.
My problem had started with PR1.
OK, thank you very much for your support.
Merry Christmas.

Hello,

Sorry it took me this long. I've uploaded once again fresh PR1 files and still had the same problem.

Than I uploaded latest (as of today) CVS. It redirected me to install.php. However the install did not complete. I reverted the database back to 8.2b version and this time the install completed succesfully.

Unfortunately, I am still getting empty pages.

Thanks

I did a fresh 9.x install which worked fine and than added 8.x Amazon and FAQ modules.

Niether one worked returning a blank screen. If I had a bad module set as a home I would get a blank screen right from the get go.

This is exactly why my upgrade did not work I guess I need to wait for Amazilla release...

Regards

*just queing up Confused *

I do have the same prob, did not try the uncommenting thing because I just upload4ed djmaze's admin.php discussed in another topic on this 'blank screen' search on only this board (9x install probs)
Strange is that mydomain.com gives the maintainance mode (even after a triple refresh... I left it that way before upgrading so it works) and mydomain.com/admin.php is blank.
I also changed cms_config_custom field maintainance cf_value to 0 instead of 1 and first tme I had an error line which "sorry guys" I for got to paste. and after resetting the value to 1 and setting it to 0 again the line never returned and the maintainance mode kept on screen (triple refreshes again)
I also check if the theme was fully uploaded.....
Though being a noob on scripting I guess I tried my best,.re uploaded the script (in case of a ftp miss) but still no change in results....

Incase I forgot to change my info....
