Post subject: CPG-Nuke League for PR1 (and above)

Hello all, my first post!

I was running CPG-Nuke League on 8.2b (thanks to user Nopeace4u), but ran into trouble because my site uses Japanese, and 8.2b was making a mess of it. So, with advice from user Stephen, I upgraded to PR1. Sadly, CPG-Nuke League stopped working. Nopeace4u mentioned he hasn't tested it woith PR1, so I turned to user xfsunoles, who gave me a great hand in squashing the bugs. I kept the steps and will post them here, so that Nopeace4u can roll them into his official distribution.

Because of time differences (I'm in Japan), xfsunoles and I didn't finish fixing everything. Hopefully I can hook up with him within the next 2 or 3 days and shake all the bugs so that CPG-Nuke League runs under PR1 and above.

I'm VERY new to CPG-Nuke, and only decided to install it because of the need for Nuke-League, which is a brilliant module (IMHO). I'd like to see CPG-Nuke League become an ever better module. So, if anyone is using this module, please get in touch so that we can put our efforts together to help Nopeace4u.

Cheers,

Carlos

Hey there!

I am using nuke-league in cpgnuke 8.2b.

Currently I'm moving to dragonfly version and I also want to use the league module in it.

I am looking forward to work with you in this.

Cool. Since I lack the skills in CPG (I picked up only 2 weeks ago, since I am a Mambo and Xaraya user), I have asked xfsunoles to help me out. I'm throwing some $$ for all the bugs he helps me squash... and there are a lot of 'em! I talked to Nopeace4u, who originally ported it to 8.2b but he says he isn't running PR1, and doesn't know the changes, thus I think we might not get much help from him.

I'm wondering if I should post the outstanding bugs that remain here? Perhaps others can provide pointers to fix them.. even if they are not interested in Nuke-League.

Cheers,

of course, that's what the support team and scripters are here for Smile whenever you have a problem with code and you post the code, it usually gets looked at and solved eventually.

From which version have you started porting?

Nuke-League 2.2 or CPG-Nukeleague 1.0?

(I believe CPG-Nukeleague 1.0 is based in Nuke-League 2.1)

You're kidding!?

Uhg! Yes, I started with CPG-Nuke League 1.0.

Hmm.. so that means all work is for naught. I need to start with Nuke League 2.2? Wow.. Sad

Post subject: Re: CPG-Nuke League for PR1 (and above)

After getting my hands dirty with nukeleague 2.2, I realised it would be much better to start a module for CPG Dragonfly from scratch.

This option is only viable if I get some help from the CPG community because I don't have full time for this.
I believe the nukeleague.org staff is too sceptic into porting it for this system so I'm going to count on my own for the start.

Maybe Nopeace4U could give us a hand here... Big grin

I will keep you informed.

Possibly inappropriate reply, but I've just ported my Competition module to DragonFlyPR1.

It's only version 1.0, and I've only just finished writing the PHP-Nuke / CPG-Nuke <=8.2 version as it happens, so it's probably no-where near as sophisticated as it could be, but it does at least work in PR1.

It's being used here (CPG-Nuke 8.2), here (PHP-Nuke 7) and here (PR1). Documentation (incomplete) (using my own Knowledge Base module) here.

Please remove this post if it's not relevant or appreciated.

Shocked

Sincerely speaking, you made a terrific post for me! That module seems very simple and easy to handle. I'm only using the league module because I couldn't find something better.
You can see the gaming league I'm hosting here.

The only thing your Competition module lacks, compared with the league one, is detailed statistics about players and teams. It is what I was looking for since the very begining.

I don't know if you want to divulge it or keep it for yourself, but if you are interested, you could start a new thread about this Competition module.

I'm going to continue to port nukeleague but I'm very interested in your project too.

I read all the faqs and the alexm's document, but there are things that I'm not doing right.
I'm not a talented coder, but I'm a fast learner Big grin
Could you give me some hints?

PHP:
Could you help me porting this code?

$result = $db->sql_query("select radminsuper from _"$prefix."_authors where aid='$aid'");
$rows = $db->sql_fetchrow($result);
if ($rows[radminsuper] !=1) { die("Access Denied"); }

to

if (!can_admin()) { die("Access Denied"); }

Post subject: Re: CPG-Nuke League for PR1 (and above)

In the following example, can I do this?

turn this
PHP:
if (!eregi("admin.php", $PHP_SELF)) { die ("Access Denied"); }
$result = $db->sql_query("select radminsuper from ".$prefix."_authors where aid='$aid'");
$rows = $db->sql_fetchrow($result);
if (
$rows[radminsuper]==1) {
into this
PHP:
if (!defined('CPG_NUKE')) { exit; }
if (!
can_admin()) { die("Access Denied");
} else {

(EDITED
I got it! Its going to be the same.
PHP:
if (!defined('CPG_NUKE')) { exit; }
if (!
can_admin()) { die('Access Denied'); }
ending in closed brackets)

I got another question.

Assuming this file is going to be placed inside the admin folder, should it be coded with
PHP:
if (!defined('ADMIN_PAGES')) { exit; }
instead of
PHP:
if (!defined('CPG_NUKE')) { exit; }
?
