please. please.. please
I visit cpgnuke often enough to hate the small font you guys are using here. with Ctrl+, everything starts to get out of shape.
when I start a new theme for dragonfly, the first thing I do is grow the fonts. You can use Arial Narrow if you think there is too much info in these pages... Verdana isn't bad either for larger characters.
at least 2 points bigger, bolder, larger.
please play around with your CSS files and make it BIG!
Kind regards
Cheers!

"Firefox/ View/Text Size/ +Increase", please don't parrot me: "Ctrl +".
It's about usability.
Melinda, please drop by and look at some professional design oriented websites. you'll FEEL the difference. Read some articles on www.alistapart.com/ so you get some points straight.

I am merely making a suggestion for something you can do until someone answers your request.
I have better things to do with my time then "parrot" you.
Stop assuming that everyone who post a reply is trying to mock you. This is an open forum, and we are allowed to make suggetions. What you do with those suggestions is your business.
I will not reply to your posts again. And if this forum had ignore you would be on it. My apologize for making the suggestion.

ignore, ahh a valuable forum feature that we do not have
the text size is an issue though. i've had reports from macintosh safari users that it's really too small to read. especially for the elderly.

Personally, I think that text used to denote posted information (date, time, and author) can be a smaller font (8pt / 10px). This is text that is mainly glanced over so that you can get to the actual posted content.
I find that using a larger font (10pt / 12px) for the information that you want your users to read, is much better then having it smaller.
If you notice, the font used in the forums here versus the font used on the home page for news articles is different. I think they should be the same since they are both information you are conveying to the users of the site.
Navigation is an either / or situation. I tend to use a smaller font for navigation, though you can use a smaller or larger font. Sometimes it depends on the target audience for the site.
I have noticed that in many gaming and tech sites, they use a smaller font globally. Information sites tend to use small navigation fonts and larger fonts for content; though a few information sites use larger fonts globally. I've also noticed that several eCommerce sites use larger fonts globally.
I recommend taking a look at some sites like Amazon.com, MSN, CNN, MSNBC, C|Net, Expedia, etc. Just pick a wide variety of websites and take notice of how they use font sizes.
Two websites that have posted studies on fonts and font sizes that may be of interest:

psychology.wichita.edu...netext.htm

Looks fine to me, standard setting in FF, not too big, not too small, just right for my eyes.

Same here, it looks great to me. I dont think the devs need to do anything to the font size.

Even in Firefox you can see the difference between the font size on the homepage for news articles, and the font size in the forums for posts. This is what I am referring to.
So when you say 'it looks great', which one are you referring to?

Ahh okay then.
To me it seems like a carry over from phpNuke. phpNuke used a smaller font globally, then had a module (phpBB) with a separate style sheet that used the larger size font.
I supose it all comes down to your preference and if it's your website, knowing who your intended audience is and setting the right font size for them.

Why is it in IE that View -> Text Size -> Smaller, Medium, Larger etc. doesn't work though? How would you enable this to work on a cpg site?
A website should cater for as many people as it possibly can, and with that feature not being allowed, certain people are being excluded from using certain websites.
