Post subject: A custom 'points' field in users profiles |

How hard would it be to make a custom field on everyone's user profiles in dragonfly which can only be edited by me.
I have a caption of the week competition on my site and would like to be able to make a rankings of the number of times people have won it, and maybe use the members list to order people by the number of times they have won as well.
Can this be easily done?

in dragonfly you can add cutom blocks to your account, look at the blocks folder in your_account, create a block with your content and upload it...

There is a points addon over at phpBB that I had installed on a previous version of php-nuke. I haven't sat down and looked at it for DragonFly, but it shouldn't be that difficult to port.
My users like the points system, so when I get time I will be looking at adding it to DF... but don't hold your breath... I already have tons to do!

safecracker4hire - talk to Dantarion as he's also working on this project. Why not start a CVS at sourceforge or something and gather up interested people with coding knowledge?

I'd be willing to help for sure. I also have a couple others on the go... Instant Messaging (working, but needs work), Random Quotes (same, working but needs work - just working on an import function for quotes from a text file) and WebChat (I started on that with 8.2, but haven't had the time to get it out lately)... any other takers?

Okay, I have gotten into Sourceforge, and im registering a project now.....
safecracker, I would love some help,
and just wondering, isn't IRC Chat just as good as webchat...
You can get a private channel set up really easy

I haven't played with IRC Chat. I have always used a JavaScript based chat. I have looked at numerous chat systems and they all lack the one feature I need the most.... make the user use their logged in username. I had some bad experiences with people imitating others on my site. Another point is it is basically the same format of MSN or similar, so users are familiar with it and like the smilies, etc.
Anyhoo... as another note, I have a dedicated server which I just installed a CVS server on to 'play' with. The CVS system here interests me, so I thought I'd learn. If you can help me set it up securely, or point me in the right direction, I'd be glad to run CVS for the projects.

I have already applied to Sourceforge with the name, Phoenix Modules..
I will setup a dragonfly cvs server at cpgmod.dantar.net soon enough...
