|
First, I'd like to say this is one that was worth waiting for!!! BRAVO!!! Excellent work to all involved!!
I just finished upgrading Dragonfly 9.0 RC1 to 9.0.1 Final and have spent over a hour going through each administrative function and every active module installed.
Everything works and thus far I've seen no errors, no messages, no problems whatsoever.
I do have one question concerning the forums configuration screen.
In Forums | Configuration the first three lines of the config screen are:
| Code:: |
{ Server name }
{ Server port }
{ Server port explain } |
Is that the way it is supposed to look or was their an omission in a language file or something.

hmm, that's different - don't seem to have that anywhere?
nm, underscored between, Server_port_explain, should be in language/english/forums.php
The problem is that L_SERVER_NAME etc are not defined in admin/modules/forums/admin_board.php -> Bug Report
EDIT: not a bug so disregard.

I just checked the language/english/forums.php and it isn't in there so I downloaded a copy of the one in the CVS Repository and there is no change. I restored the forums.php that was in the original final download.
Forgive me. Hope I don't get yelled at, but I have found something else. I'll stop after this. Promise.
Banners no longer work.

you must be using an old theme using the old subsilver templates?
I bet the forums issue disappears with the default cpgnuke theme.

aha! You're right. I was using Hardwired. The three items disapear with cpgnuke, but the banners still don't work with cpgnuke as the default.

just remove this code from the board_config_body.tpl in subsilver Do your banners show in admin?
Do they also show when you bring up Our Sponsors module?

Done. Thanks a bunch for your help.
Should I move the banner issue somewhere else?

they're a bit inter-mingled now so might as well stay here - appears to be a bug, though I can't yet see why - S_BANNER is defined in theme.php and called in header.html and I can't find any changes to viewbanner in display.php - will keep looking - my block still displays okay so it is puzzling.

Okay. Thanks a lot.
It's an issue, but not one I'm gonna worry anyone with further.
Hope you find and resolve it, though.
Also, I was surprized to find the final code in downloads. Thought there would be a grand announcement. You great folks just slid it in there quietly. I'm sure you have your reason.

Okay, you gave me an idea. My banners were set to normal.
I created a block and activated it. The banners work fine that way, but not when adding a banner using "normal" which places the banner either at the top or bottom of the page.

That is precisely what has me puzzled - I'm just gonna have to work through viewbanner and see what is being missed.

silly me, looked past the code several times - it's deliberate when you're logged on as admin - banners will show for anonymous or users.

Well, round and round we go.
Have you noticed if you're logged in as administrator the banners aren't there, yet when you log out they are "turned on"?
That's not so bad.
