XP SP2 has the popup blocker for IE but no other IE has it unless you turn off javascript but then it also turns all cool features.
"IE is not pre-loaded"
Sorry but it is, IE consists of files like dhtml.dll and those are loaded at boot.
I've recompiled a installation disk for Win98 and Win2k without IE and they booted faster then the default CD, so there's definatly something spooky.
"anyways, i wasn't impressed with this article because it was more of a stab and a very opinionated versus actual facts - if people don't know, they'll believe anything"
Isn't a "News article" ment to stab people?
A good article creates a discussion about something, wether it's a gun shoot on school or something about software.
And the facts are there.
I'm a helpdesk in my country so people can call me for support, you don't know the count of people that call me about "help i have strange software" or "something installed itself into IE and i can't get rid of it" or "How do i save attachments in OE"
This means IE makes it hard for people to browse the internet as "default" setup where other browsers think before they act.
