Welcome to Dragonfly CMS! Why switch to Dragonfly?
  • What is DragonflyCMS?
DragonflyCMS is a powerful, feature-rich, Open Source content management system which was based on PHP-Nuke 6.5 in the early "CPG-Nuke CMS" days. Subsequent development of DragonflyCMS has paid close attention to security, efficiency and reliability. The release of Dragonfly marked yet another exciting milestone in our history.

  • What programming language does Dragonfly use?
Our software is written in PHP—the fastest programming language spreading the net today, combined with your choice of either MySQL or PostgreSQL.

  • What does my server require?
The preferred setup is to have:
    - PHP 4.3 or higher up to 9.2.x, thereafter PHP 5.x only.
    - MySQL 4.0.x in versions up to 9.0.6.1 (not 5.x)
    - MySQL 4.1+ and 5.x, PostgreSQL 7.4+ and 8.x are supported from version 9.1.x
    - Apache 1.3 or higher (other httpd clients are also supported like IIS5/6, Raiden, etc.)
    - GD 2, ImageMagick, netPBM or any other image manipulation software

  • Why DragonflyCMS?
Unlike other content management systems on the net, we maintain a high level of security, so that you spend time managing your site, not patching it (see our Secunia reports). Managing your site is easy with our powerful line of tools which include a debugging system, BBCode support in many areas, a built-in photo gallery, and a derivative of phpBB 2.0.x.

  • Support for DragonflyCMS
Please remember that DragonflyCMS is free software; we do not offer any warranty or guaranteed technical support. You are always welcome to ask questions in our Forums, but please do not private message or email us for support. Don't forget to read our Rules and Regulations for full details about using this website. Remember, you might not be the only one that has the same problem!

About the dragonfly: Dragonflys inspire a number of things. It is the name of a US reconnaissance aircraft - the A-37 Dragonfly and a superheroine in AC comics, a song by Swedish rocker Yngwie Malmsteen, a Blondie song on the album The Hunter, the GI Joe Assault Copter, tri-maran sailing yachts, a project of Opera ASA and there's even a BSD version with the name.

Dragonflies are predators that are capable of hovering, followed by rapid acceleration, that is similar to the speed of some birds. Wikipedia says that It is said in some Native American beliefs that dragonflies are a symbol of renewal after a time of great hardship. They are used in traditional medicine in both China and Japan.

In Japan dragonflies are symbols of courage, strength, and happiness, and they often appear in art and literature, especially haiku. In ancient mythology, Japan was known as Akitsushima, which means "Land of the Dragonflies". The love for dragonflies is reflected by the fact that there are traditional names for almost all of the 200 species of dragonflies found in and around Japan. - Wikipedia
