Can somebody please exlplain what are the right steps to transfer a site (9.0.3.0) to another server with the latest version of cpgdragonfly.
1 backup my database, and copy all folders
2 Install the latest cpg on the new server
3 Copy all the old files over the new installed version
3 Change config.php and run the install.php
4 Restore de database

Are these the right steps?

Why don't you install it locally and use it for testing.

Moving it and upgrading it are 2 different steps. If you do the steps in the order you posted you're going to end up with 9.0.3.0.

If you want to move first:

1. Backup db
2. Upload 9.0.3.0 files to new host and change config.php
3. Restore db on new host
4. Upload 9.0.6.1 files to new host and change config.php
5. Run install.php

If you want to upgrade first:

1. Backup db
2. Upload 9.0.6.1 files to old host and change config.php
3. Run install.php
4. Backup db again
5. Upload 9.0.6.1 files to new host and change config.php
6. Restore db on new host

Do I have to overwrite all the old files?

Ok thank you, I followed your instructions (move and upgrade) everything seems to be working but when I go to the admin.php I can't login and I get the message:

"Please enable cookies to post on this site. If you feel that you have reached this message in error please refresh the preceding page once and post again"

You will need to change the cookie domain I expect, this will have to be done via the database (phpMyAdmin) now as you cant access admin area.

I tried to find all the records in the db with the name "cookie" in it with phpmyadmin, and I found some records with the path to the 'old domain' I have changed these but no result.
Do you have another suggestion how I can fix this?

Thank you all, it works.
But After upgrade my right blocks are gone, even it is in the admin panel, no blocks on the right side.

Hi,
I tried all that and still can't log in to the site (admin or registered). Is there a guide to moving I should look for?
I have changed the cookie domain & the a-login to allow more tries.
Thanks for any help.
{----Edited----}
I fixed that by deleting the cookies on my pc then checking the database for name differences & found them. Export the whole DB then use ctrl=f to find everything with the old site name & change it to the new. Then I could see the forums or private messages, which were still being read by the my account on the site.
I found the parse errors I was getting with the forum , anything related to them, & the private messages of Your Account was because some of the pages my WS FTP Pro moved didn't take. I found some of the php & inc pages were blank there for I would get

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: session_pagestart() in /home/gamer/public_html/nuke/modules/Private_Messages/init.inc on line 75

When I tried to view the forums. I could see the last 10 scroll box with them in it but not access it. I would suggest to any one moving their site to check the pages of each directory (not pics) to see they are correct. Also the database was edited in the cookies & domain mostly. Lastly you should check each exported sql file & change the database name to the current one on your new host.

EG:my original was cs164873_drag1 the current is gamer_drag1
