I have a forum and website which I want to completely change over to dragonfly, is it possible to change my old forum over and preserve all posts and users?

Server specs (Server OS / Apache / MySQL / PHP / DragonflyCMS):
linux 2.4.21-40.ELsmp // 1.3.36 // 4.1.21-standard // 4.4.2 // 9.1.1

Converter was just updated this week by Zarkwizard.

awesome thanks.
On the same note, is there a central location for all these tools and bug fixes etc? I've had to go trawling the forum to find quite a few things.

There is a separate forum for phpBB conversion topics, the thread I linked to is posted there. (However you may find it's full of issues with the outdated converter which are obsolete thanks to Zarkwizard.)

You can always search, though.

I tried it on a test one, all it did was delete all the forum posts and all the dragonfly users? Are there any known bugs or wierd little things that I might have to do to make this work?

As you can see from the thread it looks like one bug was found and it was fixed today. If you find anything else you should probably let him know over there, and wht the phpbb version is.

yeah I already downloaded that one.
I'm using mysql 5 if that makes a difference.
As well as there being nothing there, I connected to the database and displayed the tables, all the bb tables just say empty set.

I'm using phpbb 2.0.21 if that matters too.
