Archived ⇒ Cache file empty, how is it rebuilt?

I did something wrong and my site stopped working. After browsing the forums I decided to clean my cache/ folder. The site is back up and works OK.

But ... there is nothing in my cache at all. How is the cache rebuilt?

Thanks

every page hit should create a cached page if it doesn't exist already. Check the permissions on your cache folder and also make sure you didn't delete the .htaccess file

The cache directory is there with the right protection (0775). I have only the .htaccess file in it which is the original .htaccess file. Nothing else.

Sorry everybody.
The files are there. I checked using a simple ftp client but the files do not show up if I use FireFTP with the FireFox browser.

Sorry again for the false alarm!

Some FTP program does not show all the files. sometime it even hide the .htaccess file. You just have to be aware of it.
