Archived ⇒ [Solved] How to set up Email

I have had trouble figuring the infos that must
be set to get the mail sythm for private messages
and stuff at DragonflyCMS to work. Though I figured
as far as the information must be set in:

Allow the use of HTML in email -> Yes
Use SMTP server as opposed to PHP's mailer -> No (should it be yes here?)
SMTP host address (smtp.host.tld) -> Here I am confused... My own hosts info site says it needs to be set to mail.myhost.net/com, the many posts i found via the search tool in the forum say it needs to be actually "smtp.myhost.tld" Here's my servers webby about the smtp:
desk.surpasshosting.co...ticleid=45
Does server require SMTP authorization -> Yes
SMTP username -> Secret
SMTP password -> Secret

I have set up the e-mail i intend to use as valid mail, so it is available already. Yet I didn't managed to get it working...

if you "Use SMTP server as opposed to PHP's mailer -> No"
then auth, username and passwrod are not going to be used.

But whats the issue that you are having? Errors? Warnings? emails not received? emails not sent? ....

It doesn't seem to send pm's I write the pm, I
push the sent button and it goes into the OUTBOX.
But a pm that's sent propperly, goes into the
SENTBOX, right? So the pm never really left...

Aside of that, I have no error. I don't even
know where it would be shown wether and how an
error occures...

The pm will go from OUTBOX to SENTBOX only when the other party will read it.

If it stays in OUTBOX then your pm has not been read it yet.

PMs, doesn't need email settings to works, emails settings are only needed hen the user wants to be notified by email when he receive new PMs or other notifications like topics ecc ecc..

Oki, I have a problem after all. So I have tested
with a friend of mine the thing through if it works.
I posted a threat and put a checkmark to "notify me
when reply". Then she replied to it, but I didn't
get any e-mail. It doesn't even throw errors at me.
It just doesn't do what it should be doing...

Try setting use SMTP = YES
Your SMTP mailserver should be mail.fushichou.net
