Problem with Google bot Reply to topic

I have a google bot (IP 66.249.67.152) currently visiting my site. At present it is occupying lines 05 - 61 of the whowhere block, it has been making so many connections recently that it is severely slowing my site down.
Strangely it isn't listed as a bot in the whowhere block, I want google to crawl my site but is there a way of taming this little fellow and keeping it down to a handful of pages?
