Thanks layingback, our posts crossed. I still can't see it in edit_profile.php though (it's where I was looking originally), going to go back and look again...

Ah, maybe it's this line

echo '</td><td class="row2">'.ma_formfield($row['type'], $row['field'], $row['size'], $userinfo)."</td></tr>\n";

OK, one option is to edit the following line in \language\english\your_account.php

define('_MA_RECEIVENEWSLETTER','Receive Newsletter');

e.g. changing it to

define('_MA_RECEIVENEWSLETTER','');

so that the Yes/No line on the preferences screeen isn't explicitly associated with the newsletter, although admittedly it'll now look a bit odd without an explanation as to what the Yes/No setting refers to. I just can't see which function is being called to output that entire screen in the first place though!

Change it to 'Do you receive our Newsletter?' ? Laughing

🙋 DB 'users_fields' table is the place to be!
Just delete the record entry 😉

Thanks DJ! I think I've worked around things for now so may just leave the production site as it is but I'll test deleting the users_fields record locally (I'm always nervous about deleting anything from a table!)

What would be great would be to be able to fully integrate something like phpList or Mailchimp. I use phpList for my mailings and it does have some instructions for integrating into CMSs like Wordpress but it is way beyond my paygrade to integrate it into Dragonfly...
