Text fields - Content not being added to database Reply to topic

Content put into text fields does not get entered into the database.

News Module - add story/edit story Story Text and extended Text
Does not show on preview either but everything else does including notes.
Edit Privacy Policy - Text Box -
Content Module - text fields Header Text, Page text, footer text, and signature

any ideas as to why these text fields are not being entered into database?
The one news story showing I added the story text manually into the database.

I'm aware of this issue.
The WYSIWYG is filtering incorrect HTML (mostly from text editors like MS Word) but in Chrome the whole text is gone.
I'm still on it!

Fedora 25 / Apache 2.4.27 / MariaDB 10.1.26 / PHP 7.1.10 / Mercurial

I tried adding a news story in FF, IE and Chrome same results. Same results for all 3, title is there but Story Text and extended Test are gone. I'm not using any editors. Manually typing in the text.

can we disable the WYSIWYG and just use a regular editor?
