Archived ⇒ [solved] Contact module security code failure ? (BOM)

In the contact us form there is a place to enter a security code. But there is now code there? And when i try to send a mail from the form i get the message: Security code inncorect. Can't find a place to diable it or nothing.. What to do?

The image has a UTF-8 BOM (Byte Order Mark) header.
Did you edit config.php with notepad ?

uhm.. anyone with a wise tip?

That is the tip. Have you edited some files with a non-UTF-8 editor?

Files need to be edited only with UTF-8 compliant editors.

Im affraid i found the sollution by finding this topic...
Now i have to find every file i changed with notepad... save them again in UTF-8 and re-upload em Sad

Files need to be edited only with UTF-8 compliant editors.

That is why there is a message on the front page of this site, and numerous references in FAQ, Wiki and forums.

Guess i gonna have 2 options... do everything manuall or just make a backup of my db and reinstall everything.

The note hasn't been there forever but has been there several months because of the frequent issues.

I thought your problem was about files, in which case re-uploading the files will resolve your issue, though it will still leave you with much editing. Or use something like winmerge to highlight the files that have been changed from your distro and just address those.

Database collation is a separate matter.
