Archived ⇒ Please explain me the Forum Permission Levels...

Hello...

I have been adjusting my forum and have been
falling over the Forum Permissions in which
you can set up for each sub category the forum
permission level. Available are in Simple Mode:

Public
Registered
Registered[Hidden]
Private
Private[Hidden]
Moderators
Moderators[Hidden]

If I put a sub category to "Registered" then
does this mean the viewer can see the forum,
but only registered ppl can post? Or does it
give access of moderation and other ability
to the people... I don't want to make a mistake
by setting it wrong so I hope to get an explain
for stupid people of what setting is having
which effect on the forum.

I also know there's Advanced Mode too, but do
tell me, what would be preferable...

Thanks though...

Mahyla

It explains itself, registered means only people who are registered will be able to post in a forum although all users will be able to view it.

Registered hidden means members will have to be registered before they can see the forums.

No normal registered member can moderate posts but there own, although you can also turn that off by clicking the advanced option while in permissions.

Use the Advanced mode - it's more obvious exactly what each group can do in there
